The 350Z's successor, sold from 2009 to 2020 as a coupé and roadster with a chain-driven 3.7 V6, a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic, and rear-wheel drive. The engine is strong, and the checks centre on the clutch and gearbox.

- Nismo coupé from 2014, 344hp, with aerodynamic changes and Recaro seats
- Six-speed manual with SynchroRev Match rev matching, or seven-speed automatic
- Coupé, and a roadster with an electric hood from a year after launch
- Standard and GT trims; oil cooler standard from 2012, and an Exedy clutch on manual cars from mid-2017
What to check on a 370Z
3 model-specific things to look at when you view one. They're a starting point, not the full inspection.
Clutch pedal feel and bite
What to look for: Press the clutch pedal several times with the engine off and running. It should feel consistent and return fully every time. On the drive, the clutch should bite cleanly and not slip when you accelerate in a high gear. Ask what clutch work has been done.
Why it matters: Clutches can be short-lived on the 370Z, especially on hard-driven cars, and many have had uprated parts fitted. Nissan fitted an Exedy performance clutch to manual cars from mid-2017. Receipts for clutch work are a good sign.
Gearbox shift and rev matching
What to look for: Work through every gear, cold and warm. Note a whine in neutral or notchy changes. Press the S button and check the engine matches revs on both downshifts and upshifts.
Why it matters: A whine in neutral and notchy shifts are common on manual cars. The rev matching system, SynchroRev Match, should work in both directions, so a car where it doesn't needs the cause found before you buy.
Exhaust condition
What to look for: Look along the exhaust from underneath, especially the silencers and joints, for heavy corrosion or black sooty marks. Listen for hissing or rattling with the engine running.
Why it matters: The standard exhaust is known to corrode quickly, including from the inside. Many cars now have an aftermarket system; a good quality one is fine, but look out for poor repairs.
