CrankSight was built by a car enthusiast who loves researching and buying cars. It's an informative tool to help people buy cars they'll enjoy owning.

Buying a money-pit project car can be fun, if you know that's what you're doing (or you're making content out of it to build your influencer wealth!). But it's not fun if you're hoping to drive the car to work every day.

CrankSight gives you the information and insights to make informed decisions about whether a car is right for you. It does the detailed research and data crunching for you, so you can view a car equipped with the best knowledge, and confidently find one you'll enjoy buying and owning.

Every guide is written specifically for one model and generation, and every fact in it is checked against that model. It's on your phone while you're stood looking at the car, in the order you'll need it.

What you do with that knowledge is up to you. Plenty of good cars need some work, and buying one knowingly can be a great decision.

Why not a reg check?

A reg check reads the car's record: finance, write-offs, MOT history, mileage. You should get one. But the history doesn't tell you the condition of the car today, which noises are genuinely normal for that model, or what issues are on the horizon to cost a lot of money tomorrow.
